Etchings & Drawings

For my current works in Fine Art I chose to create etchings, 

I took inspiration from Giovanni Piranesi as he has been one of my biggest artist influences throughout my time creating art at the college.

I like to use a variation of tones when etching.  Since Piranesi's works are often  dark and gloomy I use a lot of ink towards the first print.  Following that I create a more crisp print which you can see the mark making more clearly. 

To fit with my etchings, I created drawings that took a similar style 

Adding colour to etchings 

I coloured the image with block colour in Adobe InDesign then printed it onto cartridge paper

I then printed onto the image which gave it the outlines 

printing onto the ink gave it a texture as the ink came off the paper when printing
